Gale Arlen Charles passed away on April 16, 2022. He was born in Yakima, Washington, on September 18, 1947. Gale attended elementary school and junior high in Yakima, graduating from Columbia High in Richland in 1965. He enlisted in the Army in 1966, serving as a Medic in Vietnam. After discharge from the Army, Gale attended College of the Ozarks and Central Washington State College, graduating from Central Washington State College in 1973. He subsequently worked as a parole officer for Washington State Department of Corrections. He left this position to work for the Hanford Project until his retirement. Gale was dearly loved by his family and friends. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Tracy Shepard Charles, son Joel Charles, brothers Gawain Charles (Patricia), and Glen Charles (Carol), sister Diana Charles Carscaddon (Bob), as well as, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Lola Charles. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering on Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 2:00-4:00 at the Richland Community Center, Riverview Room, Richland, Washington.
