Patricia
Albro
March 25, 1931 – September 15, 2025
Patricia Ann Albro passed away on September 15, 2025, at the age of 94.
Pat was born on March 25, 1931, in Walla Walla, Washington, to Stanley and Lelah (Strahm) Royster. She graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1949. Soon after, she married Robert Russel, and together they raised three children—Sharon, Kathi, and Ron—in Walla Walla.
Following a divorce, Pat and her children moved to Richland, Washington, where she began working at Hanford. In 1966, she met and married Larry Friedlund. The family later moved to the Republic/Curlew area, where they lived at Curlew Lake. Larry served as principal at Republic High School until 1972 and then at Curlew High School until his passing in 1975.
In 1978, Pat met the love of her life, Bernie Albro, and they were married that same year. They lived in Spokane until 1995, then returned to Richland, where Pat remained after Bernie’s passing in 2004.
Pat was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found great joy in family gatherings—especially Thanksgiving dinners. She loved cheering on the Mariners and Gonzaga basketball, and in her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, water skiing, and traveling. In retirement, she and Bernie remained active, enjoying boating, snow skiing, and many adventures together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Shirley, her husband Bernie, and her daughter Jeanine (Friedlund) Miller.
Pat is survived by her children Sharon (Kris) Boness of Richland, WA; Kathi (Greg) Boness of Richland, WA; and Ron (Joy) Russel of Ritzville, WA. She leaves behind nine grandchildren—Matthew Boness (Lori Logan), Kristian Boness (Jennifer), Cristi (Javier Iniguez) and Jeremy Boness, Bob Russel (Rohana), Shannon Haselhuhn (Seth), Michele Nelson (Curt), Jason Miller (Laura), and Leanne (David) Muzzal—as well as thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Kathi and Greg Boness for their loving care of Pat in her final days and to Chaplaincy Hospice for their compassionate support. At Pat’s request, no funeral service will be held.
