Patrick "Shawn" Brant, 60, of Richland Washington died Sunday, October 09, 2022, at his home in Richland, Washington. He lived in Richland Washington for 55 years. He was born in Finley, Ohio. Shawn retired 14 years ago from Orv's Potato Services. The most stubborn man on the planet and that grit is what kept him alive as long as he did. He meet his wife via the newspaper (pre-computer) and was with her until the end. Shawn lived life on his own terms. He adored his wife and was extremely proud of his son. Growing up he developed a passion for good music, fast cars, and cold beer. He was lucky enough to have some great friends and met some fantastic people along the way. He thoroughly enjoyed tormenting his sisters when he was a kid, especially making them his special poop sandwiches. He loved his mom Marilyn and his dad Orville very much and found a special connection to his in-laws AL and Calli. When he became an adult in his free time, he enjoyed camping in the middle of nowhere. He never used a map; his sense of direction was legendary unless he was in McMinnville Oregon. He enjoyed the opportunity to go metal detecting and always dreamed of finding that big nugget of gold. His ability to fix anything with a motor was extraordinary, and he could tell you a make of a car by looking at a headlight. In the last few years, he struggled physically and a now he is at peace to do what he wants. May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sunshine warm upon your face, and the rain fall softly upon your fields, until we meet again, May God hold you in the hallow of his hand. He is survived by his wife of almost 28 years Laura Brant and his son Skye Brant, his pride and joy. Shawn had three sisters Cathi Steiner of Kennewick. Sherry and Wayne Boling of Kennewick, and Dee Dee Hoffer of Idaho. Brother in laws Peter and Christy Lance of Arizona, Jr Lance of Arizona, Paul Lance of Texas, Ed Lance of Georgia. Shawn also has bunches of nieces and nephews, way too many to list. Shawn was preceded in death by his mom Marilyn Erstad of Richland, Grandparents Eugene and Cleora Beeson of Richland, and his in-laws Al and Calliope Lance of Fort Pierce Florida. Shawn didn't want a funeral/wake instead requested a party. Shawn's Party/Potluck will be held November 11, 2022. Please reach out to Laura Brant for details. 509-392-2032.
