Start Online Arrangements

Step One: Initial Contact

  • Take a moment for yourself
  • If the death occurred at home, please notify the physician or attending registered nurse. If the death was unexpected, or if there are any peculiar circumstances, phone the police immediately.
  • If your loved one was under hospice care at home, the hospice staff should have left some basic information for you to follow.
  • Let the facility and/or staff know that you have selected CODA Alternative Cremation and Funeral.
  • CODA will be notified, and our Transfer Technician Team will be dispatched to bring your loved one into our care. 

Step Two: Preparing for Arrangements

  • If you have any questions don’t hesitant to call us.
  • After your loved one has been brought into our care, we will contact you to schedule an arrangement.
  • You are welcome to Start Arrangements now or take a look at what CODA has to offer, simply select "Arrange Online".
  • For your appointment you will need the following information:
  • Date and place of birth (City and State)
  • Parents' names, including mother's maiden name.
  • Marital status and spouse's full name
  • Education Information
  • Occupation
  • Social Security Number
  • Power of Attorney Paperwork and or Will
  • Military Documents (DD214)
  • Next of Kin Contact Information
  • Determine the number of Certified Death Certificates you will need.
  • How you would like your loved one's remains returned

Step Three: After The Arrangements



  • Get Organized with settling the estate, filling out forms, and contacting the appropriate agencies
  • Notify Family and Friends
  • Notify Clubs, Churches, and or Other Organizations
  • Notify Insurance Companies
  • Notify Social Security
  • Notify Banks
  • Canceling Credit Cards and Driver's License
  • Submitting phone number to Do Not Call Lists
  • Contact a Lawyer if Necessary

  • Death Notice: Is a brief way to notify the public of a death. We post the Death Notice in the Tri-City Herald
  • Obituary: Can be posted on our website and or Facebook.
  • Obituaries in the Newspaper: Families will need to work independently with the newspaper of their choosing.
